The design of ‘The Landing’ is based on ultra-high performance, expansive views, ease of living, and a commitment to remain connected to nature. The building’s form, texture, and colours are inspired by a native kea landing on schist rock typical of the local landscape. The structure rises proudly from the ground, its expansive wing-like roof sheltering its occupants underneath.
The ground floor provides warm, cave-like spaces where occupants feel comfortable and secure, connected closely to the earth. The upper floor, covered by its protective kea wing, is a light and airy space, centrally parted by the solid body of the structure. With unobstructed, panoramic views of the Wakatipu Basin, this 600+ sqm iconic, sculptural masterpiece will soon take shape - sheltered and secluded on almost 4,500 sqm overlooking picturesque Lake Hayes below.
